Griffith College Cork Law School was established in 2006 and offers programmes across undergraduate, postgraduate as well as professional, special purpose and short term programmes in law. These programmes can be taken both on a full-time and part-time basis, with options for online learning/blended learning available on some of our programmes.
Our Diploma in Legal Studies & Practice (Level 7) is the only programme in Ireland recognised by the Irish Institute of Legal Executives. This Special Purpose Award, ‘Legal Executive’ qualification, can be taken over one year or two years on a part-time basis, in the evening time. It is also available online via distance learning.
Our LLB (Hons) in Irish Law (Level 8) programme has been running since 2006, both on a part-time and a full-time basis over three years. This Law Degree programme is recognised by both the Law Society of Ireland, where you train as a Solicitor, and the Honorable Society of King’s Inns, where you train as a Barrister. The programme is validated by both HETAC (national recognition) and NTU (International recognition).
Griffith College Cork are also offering a Level 8 programme in Business & Law – BA (Hons) in Business & Law, both on a full-time and a part-time basis over three years, with the same validations and recognitions as our LLB outlined above.
Our LLM in International Law, LLM in International Human Rights Law, & LLM in International Commercial Law (Level 9) has been running since 2009 and prides itself in the expertise across both International Human Rights Law & Commercial Law. Many of our graduates have progressed onto undertake Doctoral research as well as work in NGO’s. The programme is validated by both HETAC (national recognition) and NTU (International recognition).
GCC also offer professional preparatory programmes for entrance examinations to the Law Society of Ireland and the Honorable Society of King’s Inns. These programmes are available online with excellent support available to all.
We, at Griffith College Cork, pride ourselves on our dedication to excellence in teaching and learning. All our lecturers are qualified to teach as well as experts in their respective areas, whether through practice or on-going research. Our teaching staff are dedicated to their students and their learning and will provide as much support as is needed in this regard.
