UNDERGRADUATE ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
HETAC Undergraduate Honours Degree Programmes
Leaving Certificate Students applying for any HETAC Honours Degree
programme at Griffith College must have obtained a minimum of grade C3 in at
least two higher level papers, together with a minimum of four D3s in ordinary
level subjects, including a language. Some degree programmes will also require
a minimum of D3 in ordinary level Maths.
A Level/GCSE
Students applying for any HETAC Honours Degree programme at Griffith
College must have obtained a minimum of grade C or higher in at least two A
Level papers, together with a minimum of four GCSEs, to include Maths and a
language. Scoring is based on three A Level subjects and two GCSEs.
BTEC
Students applying for any HETAC Honours Degree programme at Griffith
College must have obtained a minimum of a BTEC National Diploma with four
distinctions.
Language Requirement
Our undergraduate programmes require a pass in a language. A pass in
English, Irish or a modern language will suffice.
A points level may also apply to full- time HETAC undergraduate
honours degree programmes offered through the CAO.
HETAC Undergraduate Degree and Higher Certificate Programmes
Leaving Certificate
Students applying for any HETAC Ordinary Degree or higher
certificate programme at Griffith College must have obtained a minimum of a
grade D3 in at least five ordinary level subjects, including a language. Some
programmes will also require a minimum of D3 in ordinary level Maths.
A Level/GCSE
Students applying for any HETAC Ordinary Degree or higher
certificate programme at Griffith College must have obtained a minimum of
grade C or higher in at least one A Level paper, together with a minimum of
four GCSEs, to include Maths and a language.
BTEC
Students applying for any HETAC Ordinary Degree or Higher
Certificate programme at Griffith College must have obtained a minimum of a
BTEC National Diploma.
GNVQ
Where GNVQ results are used as a basis for entry, only the GNVQ
result is considered. GCSE scores cannot be added to the GNVQ results.

LLB (Hons) in Irish Law
(Jointly awarded by NTU/HETAC)
This programme is a direct entry course. Applications should be sent
to the GCD Admissions Office directly. Students applying for the LLB (Hons) in
Irish Law must have obtained a minimum of grade C3 in at least two higher
level papers, together with a minimum of four D3s in ordinary level subjects,
including a language and a minimum of 300 points.
Mature applicants who are 21 or over, on January 1st of the year of
entry, may be admitted to this programme without meeting these minimum
entrance requirements.
HETAC Qualifications
The national structure of qualifications awarded to successful
students has been changed by the National Qualifications Authority of Ireland.
This new structure allows both learners and employers to compare Irish
qualifications more accurately with those from other countries.
In the past there have been five award levels in Griffith College;
Masters, Graduate Diploma, Degree, Diploma and Certificate.

POSTGRADUATE ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Students must have obtained a primary degree (Level 8) from a recognised
tertiary institution (or equivalent) before applying for a postgraduate
programme.
Graduate Business School (Nottingham Trent
University/HETAC)
Applicants to the Graduate Business School are required to meet the
following requirements:
Business Graduates
For entry to our postgraduate courses we require a minimum of
2.1(GPA 3.00) in a Bachelor’s Honours Degree in business or a related
discipline from a recognised tertiary institution (supporting documentation
required).
Non-Business Graduates
Entry to the PGCert/PGDip/MSc/MBA for non-business graduates with a
GPA of 3.00 requires a score of 550 or higher in the GMAT or GPA of 2.50 or
higher in the GCD Professional Certificate or substantial work experience in a
related area.
English Language Proficiency
For non-native English speakers: IELTS (6.5), TOEFL 550 (paper) /
232 (computer) with TWE (5.0), TOEIC (730) or Cambridge CPE (A, B or C).
Satisfactory performance at interview, if applicable.
An application form should be supported by two official GBS Reference
Forms included by individuals capable of assessing your suitability for your
chosen programme. At least one of the referees should be someone in a position
to judge your academic ability and, where possible, the other should be
someone who is able to assess your practical management qualities.
